How to Treat and Prevent Mud Fever on Horses With Neem Oil
Common in any horses that work specifically in wet or muddy conditions, it is a condition that can infect the pasterns and heels of horses which leads to lesions on the horse that can be quite painful. Also known as cracked heels, rain rot, dew poisoning and more, mud fever usually affects the lower limbs of the horses, and in particular the back legs. This more commonly happens in lighter color horses, specifically white horses, although it can happen in any horse.
