Riding Without Stirrups: Training or Torture?
Stirrups are often vital to a rider’s balance. These small but important pieces of horse tack are used from the moment we first get on a horse, to help us mount up, stay central, and sometimes even just to stay on! So why, if stirrups are such a vital item of horse tack, do our instructors delight in taking them away from us?
