Women, Horses, and Freedom
Horses often equal freedom in a woman’s psyche. This article compares one girl’s experience riding a horse with film horse women including young Velvet Brown from National Velvet, and Maggie from the The Runaway Bride. The author suggests that horses can be important companions in women’s quest for authenticity and freedom because of their unique sensitivities.
